FAQ

What does your logo / branding process look like?

My process is designed to ensure we arrive at a logo and brand identity that truly fits your business and does your work justice. It typically goes in five steps:

  1. Research & Discovery We talk about your goals, your audience, your competitors; I do research so your logo stands out.
  2. Creation I explore many visual ideas, including sketching, custom lettering, more sketching, mood boards, digital mockups.
  3. Presentation I present several well-developed options, shown in context (e.g. signage, cards, web) so you can see how they’ll work in the real world.
  4. Refinement You review, give feedback; I make tweaks, test versatility (size, color, print/web).
  5. Launch Once you’re happy, I provide all final files, guidelines, and help you roll the design out.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the scope (how many logo options, whether custom type is required, how many revisions, etc.) If you have a firm deadline, just let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate. But generally project fall close to these timelines:

  • Branding: 2–6 weeks from start to finish
  • Website: Around 4-6 weeks
  • Promotional Items, One-off designs: 2-3 weeks
  • Type & Font Design: 6-8 Weeks

What is “custom type” and why might I want it?

Custom type means lettering or typography designed specifically for your brand (rather than using an existing font). This gives you something unique that helps your brand stand out. It might cost a little more and take a bit more time, but it enhances originality and protects against having a brand that looks too much like others.

How much will my project cost?

Pricing depends on what you need — a simple logo redesign will cost less than a full brand identity with custom typography, multiple versions, usage guides, etc. I work with you to define the scope so you know upfront what you’re paying for. But starting prices are usually as follows:

  • Logo Re-Design: $1500+
  • Branding Package: $2500+
  • Website Design: $5000+
  • Font Design: $2500–$5000 (exclusive fonts will cost more)

How much input will I have ?

The entire project will be driven by the goals that we set up together and the stylistic direction that I’m given, along with my expertise. But the more versions you want to see, and the more direct involvement in the process you want, generally the more it will cost. I’ve found that factoring in 2-3 rounds of revisions into my pricing gives most customers plenty of input and choice in the final result.

What deliverables will I receive?

At the end of the project, you’ll typically get:

  • Final logo files (vector formats like .ai or .svg, raster formats like .png, JPG)
  • Color palette (primary, secondary, possibly accent colors)
  • Typography guidance (what fonts to use, pairings)
  • Usage guidelines (placement, spacing, what not to do)
  • Mockups / examples showing how your branding works on cards, signage, etc., if applicable

What do you need from me to get started?

To begin a project, it helps if you can first provide:

  • Any existing brand assets (current logo, fonts, colors)
  • Examples of logos/designs you like (and don’t like)
  • Your target audience / customers
  • Any constraints (colors you must use, what you want to avoid)
  • Your budget and timeline

What if I only need a small update or tweak to my logo?

That’s totally fine. I offer “light refresh” services for clients who need smaller changes (color tweaks, simplification, making it scalable, vectorizing). If that’s what you want, I’ll provide a quote based on the amount of work involved.

Can you help with branding beyond logos (web, packaging, signage, etc.)?

A: Yes, that’s my favorite part! My work often extends into how a logo and identity should appear in different environments — websites, signage, apparel, packaging, print, etc. If you need help with any or all of those, I’ll be glad to do it.
