Ali Ramos is a social worker and long-time disability advocate, who in addition to being involved  with numerous city commissions, has taken on local racist and anti-LGBTQ groups to have offensive signage taken down and basically shut down a racist restaurant. She ran for city counsel in 2021, and while not winning, certainly awakened a group of young folks to their civic responsibilities.

The branding and logo have the clear suggestion of being a non-partisan candidate, and the logos were designed as part of scheme that, yes, promoted Ali, but also suggested a purple Amarillo and ultimately a purple America.
