McGibney Guitars exists and thrives because folks have come to understand why having a living, breathing human create products that other humans use is a huge advantage.

I came to know Matt because I’m a musician who noticed his guitars, asked him if he wanted to brand them more professionally, and he—cool as a cucumber, humble as ever—said “absolutely yes!”

We did some branding work (a new artisan logo and the simple suggestion from me that he return to his own original headstock type), I produced an exclusive font for him, and most notably I created a website on which he can tell his story, sell his stock, and allow you to visually customize your dream guitar in real time.

I own several McGibney guitars and recommend them to anyone seeking an instrument that is worth every penny in sound, character, and playability.

I advised Matt to return to his original logotype choice. BUT...I think a boutique, throwback craftsman should have a visually rich maker's mark. So I created this complex but adaptable logo and a full proprietary font.

I created a guitar builder that is not only progressive in its development and therefore quicker, but which also allows for infinitely customization options.

Matt's guitars are simply worth every penny, and it's why I not only continue to work with him any chance I get, but own several of his guitars and cherish them over Taylors or Martins.

Ah. This might be redundant, but the guitar that Matt built for me to spec holds the most beautiful headstock I've seen.

After creating the chunky type for Matt's artisan logo, which can be found inside all his new builds, I created a typeface & font for him to use exclusively.
